Research Topic

          In my research I'm trying to figure out how planes affected World War 2. I'm also looking at the technologies and weapons that were used by planes that affected it too. I think that this topic is pretty cool because it's about World War 2, which makes it awesome to begin with, and because this was the first war where aerial fighting was such a big part of it. I've found that this was the first war where the planes were made of metal instead of wood and that there were many civilian and commercial planes that were adapted to fit the military's needs. The U.S. used the strategy of strategic bombing which helped them to get an edge and wasn't used before because the bombers were not as good. There are also some awesome weapons and inventions involved with planes that were used during the war like guided missiles, radar, and bombsights. The evolution of planes and their weapons affected World War 2 in a major way by making most of the battles be in the air and this changed the way the war was fought.
          During my research I am analyzing how aircraft affected the way that World War 2 was fought and also how they ultimately affected the outcome of the war. I am also looking at how the advanced weapons and technologies involving these planes affected the war as well. This topic interests me because I think that World War 2 is a very interesting milestone in our world's history and definitely allowed for the development of these planes and technologies. I have found that there are many ways that these planes affected the war. This was the first war fought with metal aircraft instead of the wooden ones of World War 1. There were many different advances in the mechanics of the aircraft as well including stronger engines and state of the art designs. These features allowed for new military strategies to be implemented including strategic bombing and many others. Many new technologies and weapons involving planes were developed and implemented during the war as well. Some of these were guided missiles, radar, and bombsights. The planes and their weapons that were used during World War 2 impacted the war in a huge way and changed the way that the war was fought.
